The PNKCA Bronze Pin Award

This pin, (The Bronze Koi Award), is a very special pin, even I don't have it!

There are about fifteen clubs belonging to the PNKCA. Yet only one person a year is awarded this pin along with a special plaque.

The person that receives this pin has to be a PNKCA member for at least ten years and contributed to the hobby and highly recommended by their own club. The final decision is made by the PNKCA board and the previous Bronze Koi winners. Currently there have been only five recipients.

Several years ago Larry Christensen, then PNKCA Chairman, asked me to create a very special pin for this much coveted award. So I designed this pin to be special. I incorporated the PNKCA logo koi and used a 1 3/8" three stage relief, (medallion) and then antique with a bronze finish. What really sets this pin apart from all others is the real sapphire in the eye of the koi. Unlike most koi pins, this is considered a fine piece of jewelry.

I'm just lucky they let me keep the prototype. .
